GREEN LONG BEAN

In the Dominican Republic, "green long bean" likely refers to a long bean or yardlong bean, a type of bean related to the black-eyed pea that grows very long and can be quite tender. These are also known as Chinese long beans and are frequently exported from the Dominican Republic for their versatility and use in stir-fries and other dishes. They are also a key ingredient in the popular Dominican stewed beans, habichuelas guisadas, though the beans used in this dish are often the dried, smaller habichuela variety, not long green beans.
